We're coming up on the Huawei Watch GT's first birthday, which means that Huawei probably has a new model coming soon. Indeed, some new images have leaked that claim to show off the next smartwatch from Huawei.
Images of the Huawei Watch GT2 have leaked out courtesy of Evan Blass, showing a smartwatch that doesn't look too dissimilar from the first Huawei Watch GT. There's a round case, two buttons on the right side of the watch, and a cluster of four sensors on the back of the device. The watch is shown in black, silver, and gold color options.
One small change that we do notice with the Huawei Watch GT2 is that the lugs on the case appear to be a bit smaller than those on the Huawei Watch GT. Also of note is that the front of the case on the Huawei Watch GT2 doesn't have the same numbers printed around it like the original model does.
There's no word yet on what kind of spec upgrades the Huawei Watch GT2 might include, but some added RAM and storage are certainly possibilities, as is a newer processor. The original Huawei Watch GT has a 1.39-inch 454x454 display, and since the Huawei Watch GT2 appears to have a similar design, it could also have a screen that's similar to its predecessor.
Huawei is hosting an event for the Mate 30 on September 19, so we might get an official introduction to the Huawei Watch GT2 there.
