Apple Arcade is set to officially launch on September 19, but if you're running the iOS 13 beta, you might be able to try it right now.
Apple has flipped the switch for Apple Arcade for some people on the iOS 13 and iOS 13.1 betas. Some users on Reddit are able to try Apple Arcade right now, and the service is available for me on an iPad running the iOS 13.1 beta.
To find out if you've got access on your iOS device, launch the App Store on your device running the iOS 13 or iOS 13.1 beta, select the "Arcade" tab, and you should see a "Try It Free" button.
Apple Arcade comes with a one-month free trial and will cost $4.99 for the whole family after your trial. Apple has said that it'll have more than 100 games in its catalog, and today the company put out a press release highlighting some of the titles that are available in Apple Arcade.
The draw of Apple Arcade is having access to a large selection of games without any ads or in-app purchases. This means you won't have to worry about being nagged to buy upgrades or have an ad constantly in your face, and parents can give their kid a game from Apple Arcade without worrying about the child running up a huge bill with in-app purchases.
Apple Arcade will be available on iOS, macOS, and tvOS, and Apple has said that your progress will sync across platforms. Additionally, you'll be able to play games offline using Apple Arcade.
