HMD Global is going big at IFA 2019, introducing five new Nokia smartphones that include new Android smartphones and the return of a classic flip phone.
First up, the Nokia 7.2 features a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP main sensor with Quad Pixel tech for sharper shots and better low-light photos, as well as a 5MP depth camera for portrait mode photos with a bokeh effect and an 8MP wide angle camera with 118-degree field of view. Around front is a 20MP selfie cam that lives in a waterdrop notch at the top of the 6.3-inch FHD+ screen.
Inside the Nokia 7.2 is a Snapdragon 660 processor paired with 4/6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. There's a 3500mAh battery powering the Nokia 7.2, a USB-C port for charging, a 3.5mm jack for your headphones, and a dedicated Google Assistant button. HMD has also included a rear fingerprint reader for added security.
The Nokia 7.2 will launch at the end of September with pricing starting at €299 EUR ($330 USD) for the 4GB/64GB model and €349 EUR ($386 USD) for the 6GB/64GB variant.
Moving on down the line, the Nokia 6.2 keeps the triple rear camera setup of the Nokia 7.2 but swaps the 48MP main camera for a 16MP sensor. The main camera has been changed to an 8MP sensor, but it's still located in a waterdrop notch at the top of a 6.3-inch FHD+ screen.
The Nokia 6.2 is also equipped with a Snapdragon 636 processor, 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and a 3500mAh battery. There are USB-C and 3.5mm ports, too, as well as a Google Assistant button and a rear fingerprint reader.
HMD says that the Nokia 6.2 will arrive in October at a price of €199 EUR ($220 USD) for the 3GB/32GB version or €249 EUR ($275 USD) for the 4GB/64GB model.
Next is the Nokia 800 Tough. As its name suggests, this phone is built to take a beating. It's waterproof, dustproof, protected against drops, and can survive extreme temperatures. Plus, it's got bigger buttons and an anti-slip grip to make it easier to use while your working or adventuring.
In terms of specs, the Nokia 800 Tough is a feature phone running KaiOS, but it comes preloaded with Google Assistant, Facebook, and WhatsApp. It's got a 2.4-inch screen, 2MP camera with flash, 4GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot. It's got a flashlight, too, and a 2100mAh battery.
The Nokia 800 Tough will launch in early October for €109 EUR ($120 USD).
HMD's Nokia 2720 Flip is the resurrection of a classic Nokia flip phone design. It runs KaiOS and comes preloaded with Google Assistant, Facebook, and WhatsApp, and it's got an external screen to let you see incoming alerts without opening the phone. The internal screen measures 2.8 inches, and there's a 2MP camera with flash on the back and a removable 1500mAh battery inside the phone.
The Nokia 2720 Flip is launching in September for €89 EUR ($98 USD).
Finally, the Nokia 110 is a basic candybar phone with a 1.77-inch screen, LED torchlight, FM radio, microSD slot, and removable 400mAh battery. It supports GSM 900/1800 and will launch in mid-September for $20.
