We may finally have a new launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
The Galaxy Fold could launch on September 27. That date was leaked today by Evan Blass, suggesting that we could be just a few weeks away from seeing Samsung's foldable smartphone hit store shelves and consumers' hands after a months-long delay.
Samsung recently confirmed that the Galaxy Fold will launch in September in "select markets", but that's the only info the company has shared about its release plans. This new rumored launch date is five months after the Galaxy Fold was originally slated to launch, but the device was delayed just days before its release after the displays on several review units broke.
In the months since then, Samsung says that it has made improvements to the Galaxy Fold design. Those include extending the top protective layer of the foldable Infinity Flex display to show users that it's not a screen protector that they should remove. Samsung has also reinforced the Galaxy Fold to block particles from getting into the device, adding protection caps to the top and bottom of the hinge and reducing space between the hinge and body.
Now that it sounds like the Galaxy Fold's launch date is near, are you thinking about buying one?
