A couple of months ago, a Google support page briefly said that the Nest Hub Max smart display would launch on September 9 before being updated to a more vague "Coming soon" timeframe. Now Google has once again let slip the Nest Hub Max's launch date.
The Nest Hub Max product page on the Google Store says that the smart display will launch on September 9. Spotted by Droid-Life, it's unclear if Google meant to make this announcement today or if this is an accidental reveal like before, but it definitely looks like that September 9 launch date that we saw before was the real deal.
Google introduced the Nest Hub Max way back in early May as its new big screen smart display. In addition to the larger 10-inch screen, up from the 7-inch display on the regular Nest Hub, the Nest Hub Max also features a 6.5MP camera that works for video calling and doubles as a Nest Cam security camera. You can also flip a physical switch to disable the camera when you don't want it on.
The Nest Hub Max also features 18mm 10W tweeters and a 75mm 30W subwoofer for sound, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Chromecast support.
Priced at $229, the Nest Hub Max is a bit pricier than its non-Max sibling, but that bigger screen, better sound, and built-in camera could make it a worthwhile option for someone who wants a big smart display as the hub of their home.
