Verizon 5G now live in Atlanta, Detroit, Indianapolis, and Washington D.C.

Verizon's 5G network continues to grow.

Verizon today launched its 5G network in Atlanta, Detroit, Indianapolis, and Washington, D.C. With these rollouts, Verizon 5G is now live in nine U.S. cities, with the others being Denver, Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Providence. Verizon plans to launch its 5G coverage in more than 30 U.S. cities in 2019.

Here's where Verizon customers in Atlanta, Detroit, Indianapolis, and Washington D.C. can find 5G coverage today:

  • Atlanta: Downtown, Midtown, Tech Square, The Fox Theater, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Mercedes Benz Stadium, Home Depot Backyard, Centennial Olympic Park, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, and parts of Renaissance Park.
  • Detroit: Dearborn, Livonia, and Troy, as well as areas around the Oakland-Troy Airport.
  • Indianapolis: Arsenal Heights, Bates Hendricks, Castleton, Crown Hill, Fountain Square, Grace Tuxedo Park, Hawthorne, Historic Meridian Park, Lockerbie Square, Ransom Place, Renaissance Place, St. Joseph Historic Neighborhood, Upper Canal, Woodruff Place, Garfield Park, and Indiana University School of Medicine.
  • Washington, D.C.: Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle, Cardozo / U Street, Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, Le Droit Park, Georgetown Waterfront, Judiciary Square, Shaw, Eckington, NOMA, National Mall and the Smithsonian, Gallery Place / Chinatown, Mt. Vernon Square, Downtown, Penn Quarter, Brentwood, Southwest Waterfront, Navy Yard, and nearby Crystal City, VA. It's also available around landmarks like Ronald Reagan National Airport, United States Botanical Gardens, Hart Senate Building, National Gallery of Art, Lafayette Square, The White House, Freedom Plaza, Farragut Square, George Washington University, Capital One Arena, Union Station, Howard University Hospital, George Washington University Hospital, and Georgetown Waterfront Park.

Verizon plans expand its 5G coverage in these cities in the coming months, so if you live in Atlanta, Detroit, Indianapolis, or Washington, D.C., you should see 5G in even more places soon.

To get onto Verizon's 5G network, you'll need a 5G device. Verizon currently sells the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, LG V50 ThinQ 5G, and Inseego MiFi M1000 mobile hotspot as part of its 5G lineup. You can also buy a 5G Moto Mod to add support to the Moto Z4 or Moto Z3.
