It feels like there are a lot of video streaming services available now or launching soon, and today we can add another to that list.
HBO Max is the name of a new streaming service from WarnerMedia. The service is set to launch in spring 2020 with more than 10,000 hours of content, including all 236 episodes of Friends. Friends is currently available on Netflix, but that service today confirmed that it'll lose Friends at the beginning of 2020.
In addition to Friends, HBO Max will be home to all episodes of shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Pretty Little Liars. There will be shows from HBO on HBO Max, too, along with content from Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, The CW, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, Looney Tunes, and more.
New content coming to HBO Max will include Warner Bros. dramas from The CW like Batwoman and Katy Keene; Max Original series like Dune: The Sisterhood, Tokyo Vice, and The Flight Attendant; and new HBO programming like Stephen King's The Outsider and Joss Whedon's The Nevers. It's also been teased that HBO Max will include movies from the likes of Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Riverdale, and Supergirl) and Reese Witherspoon.
One big detail about HBO Max that's still unknown is how much it'll cost. With a launch scheduled for spring 2020, hopefully we'll soon learn the price you'll have to pony up each month if you want to keep streaming Friends in 2020.
