It's starting to look like the Samsung Galaxy Fold may finally be getting close to launch.

"Most" of the Galaxy Fold's display issues have been taken care of, Samsung Display Vice President Kim Seong-cheol said this week. “Most of the display problems have been ironed out, and the Galaxy Fold is ready to hit the market,” he explained.

There's still no word on when the Galaxy Fold might officially launch, as Samsung has only said that it'll announce a new release date soon. The company remains confident that the Galaxy Fold will make a splash when it does finally hit the market, though, with Kim saying that the foldable phone "will receive a lot of attention" when it's released.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold was originally slated to launch at the end of April. However, several review units suffered from broken displays shortly after they were distributed. Samsung then decided to delay the launch while it improved the Galaxy Fold's design, which is probably a smart move considering that the Fold costs nearly $2,000 and is one of the first foldable display devices coming to market.

To improve the Galaxy Fold and help protect it from further display problems, Samsung has said that it's strengthening the screen protection and working to better explain to customers how to care for the device.

Now that most of the issues with the Galaxy Fold's display have apparently been ironed out, we just have to wait for Samsung to reveal the new launch date.r
