The LG G7 ThinQ began receiving its Android Pie update in South Korea back in mid-January, but it took a little extra time for the update to reach the U.S.

LG's G7 ThinQ is now being updated to Android Pie on Verizon. The update is version G710VM20a and includes improvements to the Camera and Gallery apps, a home screen lock that prevents apps and widgets from being accidentally changed, and gestures that'll let you swipe up to switch to Overview and swipe right to get to your most recently used app.

Another notable feature of the LG G7 ThinQ's Android Pie update will let you run two instances of the same app at once. This could come in handy if you have two different accounts for the same messaging service, like one for work and one for personal use. This feature is supported by Facebook, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, WeChat, Viber, Line, Skype, Telegram, KakaoTalk, QQ Mobile, BlackBerry Messenger, Hike Messenger, ICQ, Zalo, and Snapchat.

This update includes the April 1, 2019 Android security patches, too.

If you've got an LG G7 ThinQ on Verizon, you should see this update hit your device in the coming days. You can also check for it manually by launching your Settings app and going into About Phone > Software Updates > Check for Update > Download Now.

Android Pie definitely took a while to hit the LG G7 ThinQ in the U.S., but hopefully now that Verizon has updated its G7 to Pie, the other carriers' updates won't be far behind.
