After acknowledging last week that some OnePlus 7 Pro owners were having problems with ghost touches, OnePlus has now provided a follow-up on the situation.

OnePlus says that it's received "limited reports" of OnePlus 7 Pro owners suffering from phantom taps and that it will release a firmware update in the "upcoming weeks". The issue causes the screen to think it's being touched when its not, with random taps appearing at the top of the screen.

Many folks say that the app CPU-Z is a good way to test if your OnePlus 7 Pro has the ghost touch issue. Those that do get these phantom taps say that disabling the OP7 Pro's NFC radio could be a temporary fix while we wait for OnePlus to deploy this firmware update that'll hopefully fix the problem for good.

OnePlus also said today that it's gotten "limited reports" of other touchscreen problems with the OnePlus 7 Pro, like the corners of the screen being unresponsive. A software update will be released to address these problems.

One of the highlight features of the OnePlus 7 Pro is its screen, with OnePlus touting the OP7 Pro's large, notchless display with a 90Hz refresh rate. That, combined with the fact that the main way you interact with the OP7 Pro is its screen, makes these ghost touch and other touchscreen problems an issue for the new flagship. Hopefully these updates come soon to fix the problems once and for all.
