tvOS isn't the only platform getting a big update, as Apple today also detailed watchOS 6.
One of the biggest features of watchOS are the watch faces, and Apple has confirmed that several more are coming with the update to watchOS 6. Apple showed off gradient, digital, and solar faces on stage, and you'll be able to customize them to your liking, including with complications.
Another major feature coming to watchOS 6 is support for independent app support as well as a dedicated App Store. This means that you'll be able to browse the App Store and download apps directly on your watch. Plus, Apple says that there can be apps that don't require a companion iPhone app.
Speaking of apps, Apple says it's prepping an audiobooks app, a Voice Memos app, and a calculator app with tip calculations and bill-splitting for the Apple Watch. There's also a new Noise app with a decibel meter to let you know when you're in an environment that may be too noisy.
There are improvements to existing Apple apps in watchOS 6, too. There's cycle tracking for women, and this feature is also being built into the Health app on iPhone so that more women can access it. Another new feature is activity tracking, which will let you compare trends over the last 90 days and last 365 days, and if there's a downward trend, Apple will give you some simple coaching to help improve your workouts.
