Today at CES 2019, Lenovo introduced two new products that include the leading digital assistants: Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
First up, the Lenovo Smart Clock is a smart display with Google Assistant. It's got a 4-inch 800x480 touchscreen and it's covered in fabric, similar to Google's family of Home smart speakers. And just like a real alarm clock, you can tap it to snooze your alarm.
The Lenovo Smart Clock features one 1.5-inch 3W speaker and two passive radiators, a 1.5GHz MediaTek 8167S processor, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. Another nifty feature is that it's got a USB-A port on the back so you can charge your phone without having to plug something else into your wall.
Because it's got the Google Assistant built in, you can use the Lenovo Smart Clock to see your weather, calendar, commute into, news, and more on the screen. You can also control smart home devices, great for turning on your coffee maker from bed in the morning, and you can stream music, radio, and podcasts, including using multi-room audio to play tunes throughout your house.
The Lenovo Smart Clock will launch in spring 2019 at a price of $79.99. It looks like it could be a great bedside companion, offering a smaller display that won't blind you or take up a ton of room on your bedside table. The inclusion of a USB port for charging your phone is really smart, too, and some folks will surely appreciate that there's no camera in the device, meaning there's no concern of someone hijacking the camera and viewing you without your knowledge. If you've been thinking about adding a smart speaker or smart display to your bedroom, the Lenovo Smart Clock could be a great option when it launches in the spring.
Also announced today are the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 and Smart Tab P10. These devices function as normal Android tablets when you're carrying them around, but when placed into their dock, they become an Amazon Echo Show-style Smart Screen with Amazon Alexa built in.
When docked, the Smart Tab M10 and P10 will charge and offer you Amazon Alexa features like smart home controls, the ability to watch films and listen to music, and more.
Both models feature a 10.1-inch 1920x1200 LCD screen, octa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 processor, a microSD slot, and Android Oreo. The Smart Tab P10 also boasts 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, dual front speakers, and a 4850mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Smart Tab M10 steps up to 4GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in storage, four front speakers, and a 7000mAh battery.
Both the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 and P10 will be available for pre-order later this month. The Smart Tab M10 will be priced at $199.99, while the Smart Tab P10 will cost $299.99.
