OnePlus is making an announcement with supercar maker McLaren next week, but as is usually the case in situations like this, the two companies' collaboration has leaked early.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has been revealed in a new set of leaked images. Shared on Twitter by Ishan Agarwal, the images show a device with "Speed Orange" finish that includes a carbon fiber pattern on its backside and an orange glow. There's a McLaren logo on the bottom of the phone's rear as well.
Inside the device, this McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 6T has reportedly been equipped with 10GB of RAM, up from the 8GB included with the top-end OnePlus 6T, and 256GB of storage. There's also a feature called Warp Charge 30 which is said to give you "A day's power in 20 minutes." OnePlus advertises the 6T's fast charging as giving you "A day's power in half an hour", so the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition's fast charging should be even quicker than the standard OP6T's.
OnePlus and McLaren will announce their co-branded smartphone on December 11. There's no word yet on how much it might cost, but given the improvements such as the added RAM, it'll likely be pricier than the top-end OnePlus 6T that has 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a $629 price tag.
In teasing the upcoming announcement, OnePlus and McLaren called their partnership a "Salute to Speed", and today's leak suggests that they're going all in with that tagline by adding more RAM and speedier charging to this special OP6T. I think it might've been cool to see a bit more McLaren orange on this phone, like an entire orange back panel, but I also know that not everyone wants to carry a bright orange phone.
