Another Android device maker has spilled its Pie update plans.
Sony today revealed which of its phones will be updated to Android 9 Pie. The first devices to be updated will be the Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ2 Premium, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZ1, and Xperia XZ1 Compact. Sony says it'll begin updating these phones in November.
The Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia XA2 Plus will be updated to Android 9 Pie, too. These updates will begin in early 2019.
That's a total of nine phones that Sony is planning to update to Android 9 Pie, with a mix of premium and mid-range phones included. Sony users may be disappointed that they've got another three months to wait before their slice of Pie comes, but as Sony explains in its announcement, preparing updates takes time because the company has a lot of work to do in building the update for its phones, adding its own software tweaks, and testing.
