Following rumblings that a Palm-branded Android phone is coming soon, images of the device have found their way online.
The device is codenamed "Pepito", says a report from Android Police, and the strange nature of this phone doesn't end with it being a Palm-branded Android device. Pepito is said to have a 3.3-inch 720p LCD screen, which is positively tiny compared to most smartphones nowadays. Also small is Pepito's battery, which reportedly comes in at 800mAh.
Other features of the Palm Pepito are said to include a Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and Android 8.1 Oreo. There will not be a headphone jack. This Palm-branded Android phone will reportedly be released in titanium and gold color options, and it's expected to be sold by Verizon.
The Pepito is one of the weirder phones we've seen in a long time. Not only is it kind of strange to see a Palm phone running Android, but it's got an extremely small screen and a battery to match. The rest of its features aren't too shabby, though, and it's possible that this could end up being a great device for folks that want a small smartphone but also want something higher spec'd than an entry-level Android device with 1GB of RAM.
What do you think of this Palm Pepito? Will you be interested in it if these leaked specs hold true?
