It looks like Amazon's got a new streaming box on the way.
Amazon today launched a teaser page for a device called the Fire TV Cube. The page, discovered by AFTVnews, simply says "What is Fire TV Cube?" along with the tease that "Details coming soon."
After the discovery of the teaser page, Amazon responded with the cryptic statement "This was not an announcement, just a Webpage. More details are coming soon."
We'll have to wait for Amazon's official announcement before we know exactly what this mysterious Fire TV Cube is, but it's possible that it's the cube-shaped device that leaked out late last year. A leaked image showed an Amazon-branded dongle, which turned out to be the Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD, as well as an Amazon-branded cube that we haven't seen an official launch for.
With its four buttons on top and light ring on the upper edge, the mysterious cube looks like an Amazon device. It's possible that Amazon is prepping some sort of Echo/Fire TV hybrid. What do you think Amazon is cooking up?
