Last year we saw Apple introduce red versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (shown above) that benefitted RED and the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS. Now a new rumor claims that Apple will release more red phones in the coming days.
Apple plans to launch (PRODUCT)RED versions of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus as soon as Monday, according to a report from MacRumors. The publication viewed a Virgin Mobile internal memo that says it'll add these red iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models to its inventory system on April 9.
This report was backed up by Bloomberg News's Mark Gurman, who is a well-known source for Apple leaks.
Apple currently sells the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in space gray, silver, and gold color options, so it would be nice to have a red version of both phones for folks that want a device that's a bit more fun and colorful. It's also worth noting that while the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus had metal bodies, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have glass backs, so the red versions could be a bit more shinier and reflective than last year's red iPhone models.
