Last year, a TCL executive teased that we might see something new from Palm in 2018, and now it looks like that really could end up happening.
A Palm-branded device made by TCL will launch on Verizon in the second half of 2018, according to an Android Police source. Unfortunately, no other details of the release or the device itself are known right now.
TCL originally bought the Palm brand way back in early 2015, but so far we haven't really seen TCL do much with it, as the company has been focusing on cranking out BlackBerry products instead. Now it appears that TCL is ready to stage a revival of the famed Palm brand.
We'll have to wait a bit longer before we know anything about this upcoming Palm device, but it's probably a good bet that whatever it is, it'll run Android. Palm released a few webOS sliders with physical keyboards like the Palm Pre, Pre 2, and the HP Veer, and it'd be kind of neat to see an updated version of the Pre running Android. Who knows if that's something that TLC and Palm will end up doing, though.
What kind of Palm device would you like to see from TCL?
