Remember the Galaxy Tab Active 2? Samsung introduced this rugged Android tablet back in October 2017, and at the time, the company only said that it'd be available in select markets. Fast-forward several months and it turns out that the U.S. is one of those markets.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is now available in the U.S. Pricing is set at $419.99 for the Wi-Fi-only model and $519.99 for the unlocked 4G LTE version.
One of the highlight features of the Galaxy Tab Active 2 is its rugged body. The shell includes a 1.2m anti-shock protective cover, and the tablet is MIL-STD-810 certified, which means it can handle extreme low pressure, high altitudes, extreme temperatures, dust, and more. It's also IP68 water resistant, meaning it can withstand being submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
The Galaxy Tab Active 2 also comes with a ruggedized S Pen stylus that's also IP68 water and dust resistant. You can even use the S Pen while the tablet's screen is wet.
Other specs of the Galaxy Tab Active 2 include an 8-inch 1280x800 display, octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, microSD card slot, and a 4,450mAh battery. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat and includes Samsung additions like QuickStart management software and Knox security software.
