Less than two weeks after the Nokia 6 (2018) made its official debut, it's started receiving a major software update.
Nokia has announced that the Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 are now receiving an update to Android 8.0 Oreo. The updates are now rolling out in China, where the new Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 are available, so owners should keep an eye out for the updates in the coming days.
The update to Android Oreo brings with it several new features. Picture-in-picture will let you watch video from one app while performing tasks in another app, while notification dots will let you quickly see which apps have alerts for you from your home screen. Other new features include autofill, smart text selection, background limits, and more.
It would've been nice to see the Nokia 6 (2018) launch with Oreo, but at least it didn't take long for the new phone to get its Android 8.0 update. We've now seen a handful of Android-powered Nokia phones get updated to Oreo, and it's good to see Nokia and HMD Global working to bring Android 8.0 to their devices quickly.
