Heads up, prepaid folks, because Cricket Wireless is making some notable changes to its rate plans.
Starting November 5th, Cricket will increase the high-speed data allotments of two of its plans. The $30 per month plan will grow from 1GB to 2GB and the $40 per month plan will go from 4GB to 5GB.
If you'd rather not monitor your data usage, you can sign up for Cricket's Unlimited 2 plan with unlimited data. This plan is $55 per month for a single line, and you can add up to four additional lines for $25 per line per month.
The Unlimited 2 rate plan includes 4G LTE data, but speeds max out at 3Mbps and video streaming tops out at 480p. After a line reaches 22GB of usage in a single month, their usage may be prioritized behind other users during times of network congestion.
Finally, Cricket says that customers will be able to add mobile hotspot usage to their Unlimited and Unlimited 2 plans. This will get you 8GB of mobile hotspot usage per month, after which your hotspot speeds will be slowed to 128Kbps for the remainder of that billing cycle.
