After being announced way back in January, the ASUS ZenFone AR is finally available in the U.S.
Verizon is now offering the ASUS ZenFone AR online at a price of $0 down and $27 per month for 24 months. Full retail pricing for the device is set at $648.
The ASUS ZenFone AR is notable because it’s compatible both with Google’s Tango augmented reality effort as well as its Daydream virtual reality platform. With Tango AR, you can do things like measure real-life surfaces with your phone, visualize how furniture would look in your home, and play games. Meanwhile, Daydream VR will immerse you in content like Google Street View, games, and videos when you combine the ZenFone AR and a Daydream headset.
When it comes to raw specs, the ZenFone AR is running Android 7.0 on a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 display. It’s also got a 23-megapixel camera with laser autofocus and dual LED flash, motion tracking and depth sensing cameras for Tango, and an 8-megapixel camera with wide angle lens for your selfie needs.
Inside the ZenFone AR is a Snapdragon 821 processor paired with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a 3300mAh battery. You’ll recharge that battery using the phone’s USB-C port.
