Samsung’s Exynos family of processors is growing again.
The Exynos 9 Series 8895 is a new octa-core processor from Samsung that’s built in the 10 nanometer FinFET process. One of the most notable features of this chipset is that it’s got a gigabit LTE modem that supports five carrier aggregation. The processor can handle 1Gbps download speeds with 5CA, while also offering 150Mbps uploads with 2CA.
Other features of the Exynos 9 Series 8895 include four custom Samsung second generation cores for improved performance and power efficiency, four Cortex-A53 cores, a Mali-G71 GPU, support for 4K UHD video recording at 120fps, and video processing tech that’ll help deliver high-quality images for applications like VR.
Samsung says that the Exynos 9 Series 8895 is already in mass production. While the company does name any devices that its new processor will appear in, it’s probably a safe bet that it’ll appear in some Galaxy hardware in near future.
