One day after specs for the Samsung Galaxy S8+ leaked out, details on the regular Galaxy S8 have followed.
The alleged spec details for the Samsung Galaxy S8 have been leaked by TechnoBuffalo. Unsurprisingly, they’re largely the same as the Galaxy S8+’s, including 12-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front cameras, 64GB of storage, microSD support, 4GB of RAM, and an IP68-rated body. Also said to be included is an iris scanner, wireless charging support, and earphones tuned by AKG.
The one big difference between the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will reportedly be the screen size. While the Galaxy S8+ is expected to have a 6.2-inch display (6.1-inch with rounded corners), the Galaxy S8 will allegedly feature a 5.8-inch display (5.6-inch with rounded corners). The resolution of the two screens is expected to be the same, though, coming in at Quad HD+.
While it’s not mentioned in today’s leak, it’s also expected that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will have different battery sizes. A previous report suggested that the GS8’s battery will be 3,000mAh, while the GS8+’s will be 3,500mAh.
Finally, both phones are rumored to be coming with a Snapdragon 835 processor in some regions and an Exynos chipset in others.
While nothing is official until Samsung says it is, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ featured largely the same specs. The main differences between the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge were their screen sizes, battery sizes, and the fact that one had an edge display. That last difference won’t be present this year, with both phones said to be packing curved edge screens, so that’ll leave just the screens and batteries as the only differences between the two models.
Now that spec lists for both phones have surfaced, which upcoming Samsung flagship do you find more interesting?
