Did the $50 price tag on Barnes & Noble’s Nook Tablet 7-inch tempt you to pick one up? If so, we’ve got some news for you.
Barnes & Noble and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) have announced a recall on the power adapter included with the Nook Tablet 7-inch. According to the US CPSC, the casing on the power adapter can break when plugged into an electrical outlet, exposing its metal prongs and posing an electric shock hazard.
So far, Barnes & Noble has received four reports of the power adapter breaking, but no injuries have been reported.
This recall affects around 147,000 units. If you’ve got one of them, you should stop using the power adapter and register for a free replacement and a $5 Barnes & Noble gift card. B&N has set up a webpage specifically for this recall.
