The Moto G line of Android phones have been some of the most popular affordable smartphones in recent years, and today we may be getting a look at the next entry in the series.
Images of what’s said to be a Moto G5 Plus prototype have leaked. The photos are a part of a listing on a Romanian reselling site, and they offer several peeks at the mysterious device. The phone has a round rear camera housing, microUSB and 3.5mm headphone ports on its bottom, and what looks to be a fingerprint sensor below its display.
This device looks similar to the alleged Moto X (2017) that surfaced last month, but it’s unclear if one of these reports is wrong or if the phones just shared a similar design.
Also included in this product listing are some alleged specs for the device. This supposed Moto G5 Plus is said to be model number XT1685 and include a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 3080mAh battery, and Android 7.0 Nougat.
The seller is asking 1650 Romanian Leu for the device, which works out to around $388 USD.
The spec list of this alleged Moto G5 Plus doesn’t sound too shabby, sharing some features with its predecessor while also coming with a step down in camera resolution but an updated processor. It’s worth noting that all of this is still very unofficial, though. Considering the success of the Moto G line, it makes sense that Moto would be prepping a new model for 2017, but we’ll just have to wait and see if the device in this leak is indeed it.
