Today’s the day that Samsung began rolling out its Android 7.0 Nougat beta to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unsurprisingly, screenshots of the beta have made their way online.
Several screenshots that show Android 7.0 on the Galaxy S7 have been shared by SamMobile. What’s notable is that they give us a peek at how Samsung has customized the Nougat for its hardware.
The customized software is said to be “very smooth” with new animations that “flow seamlessly.” The update takes a bit from the Grace UX that was used on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7, but with some small tweaks here and there. The screenshots give us a look at several different parts of Samsung’s software, including the Settings app, notification shade, Quick Settings, app drawer, and the camera app.
Overall, Samsung’s version of Android 7.0 for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge looks nice. Samsung isn’t going to push out Nougat without customizing it first, but the good news is that these tweaks don’t look too crazy, and so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that’s been using a GS7 or GS7 edge for any period of time. Plus, it sounds like the update runs pretty smoothly, which is just as important as how it looks.
If you’d like to try Samsung’s Android 7.0 beta for yourself, you can register by downloading the Galaxy Beta Program app in Galaxy Apps on your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge. If you have a Samsung Account and meet the requirements, you may get to try out Nougat before the general public.
While we wait for Android 7.0 Nougat to roll out to all Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners, you can check out many more screenshots of the update at the link below.
