When you get a new phone from your carrier, you typically have the option of getting insurance on the device to help you get a repair or replacement if anything happens to your new phone. AT&T customers that are enrolled in their carrier’s insurance program will soon get a new feature added to their plan.
AT&T will begin offering cracked screen repairs starting November 15. This feature will be available to AT&T customers enrolled in the Mobile Insurance, Mobile Protection Pack, Mobile Protection Pack for Business, and Multi-Device Protection Pack programs.
If you need to get your phone’s screen repaired, an $89 deductible will apply. Once you’ve got an appointment set up, an Asurion rep will come to you as soon as the same day and repair your screen. In order to get same-day repair, your claim will need to be approved by 2:00 pm local time. Repairs come with a 12-month warranty.
At launch, only a handful of phones will be eligible for AT&T’s cracked screen repair, and AT&T notes that “some colors of eligible devices are not covered.” Here are the phones that’ll be eligible at launch:

While AT&T’s cracked screen repair program will be somewhat limited at launch, it’s a nice addition for those folks that do qualify. Not only does the program offer fast repairs, but the replacement screens come with a 12-month warranty, so you can have peace of mind knowing that your repair will be covered for one year.
