Now that the Galaxy Note 7 has been discontinued over concerns that the device was catching fire, Samsung and its partners are in the process of getting all of the Note 7s back from consumers. But what if you bought your Note 7 used? You can swap it out, too.
Samsung has confirmed that anyone that’s bought a used Galaxy Note 7 can exchange it for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge, even if you didn’t buy it from Samsung. If you bought a secondhand Note 7, you can call 1-844-365-6197 and begin the exchange process.
Samsung’s statement to Android Central on the matter:
“Any customer who bought a Note7 [used] should contact us directly at 1-844-365-6197 to exchange their device. We are working as quickly as possible to make the service experience for our customers as quick and smooth as possible and we are grateful to our Note7 customers for their patience during this time.”
The Galaxy Note 7 was on the market for a pretty brief period of time, but there was still enough time for some consumers to buy a Note 7 and then decide to resell it. Good on Samsung for taking care of consumers that have a Note 7, even if they bought their phone used instead of getting a new one from Samsung. Not only does this mean that these consumers don’t have to hunt down the location that the Note 7 was originally purchased, which could prevent a frustrated person from simply selling the Note 7 to an unsuspecting buyer.
Did any of you Galaxy Note 7 owners buy your phone used?
