After appearing in leaked images, the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 is now official.
The Galaxy Folder 2 is Samsung’s newest Android flip phone. As expected, it’s packing a 3.8-inch 800x480 display, 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a quad-core 1.4GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage (10.5GB available to the user) that you can expand upon with a microSD card. There’s also a 1,950mAh battery and dual SIM slots inside the Folder 2.
On the software side, the Galaxy Folder 2 is running Android beneath Samsung’s custom user interface.
Because this is a flip phone, the Galaxy Folder 2 has a number pad, dedicated Send and End buttons, and a directional pad to help you navigate the UI. Also included are Android navigation buttons, like Back and Home keys.
There’s no word on how much the Galaxy Folder 2 will cost or when it’ll launch. One thing that seems certain, though, is that we won’t see the Galaxy Folder 2 launch outside of many (if any) markets outside of China. That’s not surprising since that’s happened with past Android flip phones, too, but that doesn’t make it any less disappointing.
