Now that Android 7.0 is officially rolling out to Nexus owners, we’re starting to see manufacturers shed light on when they’ll begin pushing Nougat to their devices. Today it’s HTC’s turn.
HTC says that it plans to update the unlocked HTC 10 to Android 7.0 in Q4, which runs from October to December. Following that update, the unlocked HTC One M9, unlocked One A9, and the carrier models of these devices will be updated.
HTC previously confirmed that these three phones would be updated to Android 7.0, back when it was still known as “Android N.” Today’s announcement sheds more light on when those updates will roll out. Unsurprisingly, HTC will update the unlocked version of its currently flagship first, followed by its other recent hero phones. The carrier models of HTC’s phones will come after the unlocked HTC 10 because carrier-branded typically phones take longer to receive updates since they go through additional testing from the carriers.
