Today’s a big day for Android, because after Google began pushing its Nougat update, some major Android Pay news has emerged.
Walgreens now supports Android Pay’s loyalty program integration, making it the first retailer to do so. With this feature, Android Pay users can add their Walgreens Balance Rewards info to Android Pay and then tap their phone to the PIN pad to apply their rewards info at checkout.
This integration makes it easier for Android Pay users to use their Balance Rewards card at Walgreens. Rather than having to pull up the card’s barcode and have the cashier scan it, Android Pay users can just tap their phone to the payment terminal while the cashier is scanning items and bagging them up.
