Starting this year, Honor will provide its devices with updates for up to 24 months following their launch, with new features coming at least once every three months during the first 12 months. After that 24-month period, Honor will continue to release updates as needed for user security.
Honor is a fairly new brand in the U.S., and this announcement is a way to help establish Honor as a part of this market. A commitment of 24 months of software updates makes the Honor 8 more attractive to prospective buyers, because they can rest easy knowing that they’ll get two years of software updates, including frequent updates with new features during the first year of ownership.
