Earlier this year, Netflix launched a website called Fast.com that would quickly test your internet speed. Now there’s an app that does the same thing.
Netflix today launched the Fast Speed Test app on Android and iOS. Just like the website, the Fast app offers a fast way to test your (hopefully just as fast) internet connection on your phone. The app has a clean, ad-free design that doesn’t even have a “Start button, because the app immediately starts testing your speed when you launch the app.
Once your test is done, the Fast app will give you a link to SpeedTest.net so that you can compare your Fast test result with SpeedTest’s own app.
Netflix’s Fast app isn’t going to be for folks that want a ton of information about their connection. It doesn’t show as many details as other apps do, like your IP address. What it does do is give you a fast, ad-free way to check the speed of your current internet connection. So if that’s all that you really care about when checking your internet speed, you should give the Fast app a look. It can be found here in Android’s Play Store and here in the iOS App Store.
