Instagram has added quite a few new features to its service in recent months, including support for 60-second videos, an iPhone share extension, an algorithmic feed, and most recently, Stories. Instagram isn’t slowing down, though, as they’re testing another new feature.
Instagram is now testing a “Save Draft” feature. It’s pretty much what it sounds like, letting you save any edits you’ve made to an image when backing out from it. Currently, backing away from an image during the editing process will discard the changes that you’ve made.

So when will you get this Save Draft feature? That’s not yet known. Instagram has confirmed that the feature exists, but that it’s currently only in testing.
Offering the ability to save drafts would be a big addition to Instagram. Most of the time, you’re probably going to take a photo, edit it, and post it without issue, but sometimes you may start to create an Instagram post but then decide to come back to it later. In those instances, having the Save Draft feature will let you come back to the image exactly the way you left it, meaning that you won’t have to remember any edits that you previously made.
