Between streaming music, watching videos, sharing photos, browsing the web, and more, it can be tough to decide exactly how much data you use each month and which new data plan you should sign up for. T-Mobile’s new Smart Fit aims to alleviate this issue.
With Smart Fit, new T-Mobile customers can sign up for a $65 plan and get unlimited talk, text, and data as well as 14GB of hotspot usage. The customer then uses their phone like normal for 30 days.
At the end of those 30 days, T-Mobile will recommend the best plan for the customer, whether that’s the basic 2GB plan, the 6GB plan, the 10GB option, or the unlimited plan. You don’t have to select T-Mo’s recommended plan if you don’t want to, though, instead increasing or decreasing your monthly bucket if you’d like. If you don’t select any plan, you’ll be moved to T-Mobile’s 6GB plan for the next month.
Again, this plan is only available to new T-Mobile customers, which makes sense considering that new customers may not be experienced smartphone users, so they may not know how much data they typically use every month. Smart Fit lets them use their phone for 30 days without worrying about their data usage, then they get a recommendation on the right data plan for them.
