When ASUS took the wraps off of its new ZenFone 3 family back in May, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe was the highlight of the group thanks to its spec list, which included 23-megapixel camera and up to 6GB of RAM. Now ASUS has revealed that the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is getting even more powerful.
The ZenFone 3 Deluxe will feature a Snapdragon 821 processor, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 820 that it was originally announced with. The rest of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe’s spec list is remaining the same, meaning that it’ll come equipped with up to 6GB of RAM, a 23-megapixel rear camera, USB Type-C, and a 5.7-inch 1920x1080 Super AMOLED display.
As you might expect, all that power won’t come cheap: The ZenFone 3 Deluxe will sell for $780.
While the Snapdragon 821 isn’t exactly a major upgrade over the Snapdragon 820 — Qualcomm has said that the 821 offers a 10 percent performance increase over the 820 — it is still an upgraded chip, and we’re likely to see it in at least some upcoming flagships. ASUS’s ZenFone 3 Deluxe will be one of the first commercial devices to offer the SD821, giving both ASUS and ZenFone 3 Deluxe owners a little bit to gloat about in the coming months.
