After making their official debut one month ago, Motorola’s new Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are now available for pre-order in the U.S.
If you point your browser to Motorola’s website, you can now use Moto Maker to customize and pre-order either a Moto G4 or a Moto G4 Plus. Pricing starts at $199 for a 16GB Moto G4 and goes up from there. You can get a 32GB Moto G4 for $229.99, a 16GB Moto G4 Plus for $249.99, or a top-end 64GB Moto G4 Plus with 4GB of RAM for $299.99.
As of this writing, all models of the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus have an estimated delivery date of July 12. Motorola also says that the G4 and G4 Plus will hit Republic Wireless on July 28.
The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus have similar spec sheets, but there are a few differences worth noting. For example, the Moto G4 Plus has a fingerprint reader on its face that the Moto G4 lacks. The G4 Plus also offers a 16-megapixel rear camera, which is slightly higher-resolution than the G4’s 13-megapixel, and the G4 Plus’s camera also boasts laser autofocus and phase detect autofocus features. Finally, you can get the Moto G4 Plus with 4GB of RAM if you buy the model with 64GB of storage, whereas the Moto G4 is only offered with 2GB of RAM.
Outside of those few tweaks, the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus offer many of the same features. They’ve both got 5.5-inch 1920x1080 displays, octa-core Snapdragon 617 processors, 3000mAh batteries with TurboPower fast charging, 5-megapixel front cameras, and microSD slots for adding more storage. Both phones also come equipped with Android 6.0.1. They’re both unlocked and Motorola says that they’ll work on “all major carriers.”
