As we get closer to the launch of Android N and new Nexus devices, details on the final release of those products continues to leak out. Now details on a new Google app have surfaced, too.
Google is reportedly prepping a new app called Google Support — for now, at least — that’ll let Nexus owners easily share their screen with a Google rep when they need help. A recreation of the screenshot leaked to Android Police says “Share your screen for guided support” and “Allow the agent to see your screen.” Unfortunately, there aren’t many other details available right now, so it’s unclear how much control over the screen these agents would have.
Also included in this leak is the set of redesigned on-screen navigation buttons that are rumored to be coming with Android N.
While still unofficial, a Google Support app that would let Nexus owners share your screen with a help agent would make sense. Nexus devices are primarily sold online, which means that folks have to dig through Google’s online support pages or try to get their problem solved through an online chat. With this leaked Support app, Nexus owners could share their screen with a Google rep to quickly and easily show them what’s going on. The Google rep may even be able to control or draw on the screen, but we’ll have to wait until Google Support launches to see if those features actually make it into the final release.
