Exciting news, emoji lovers: Unicode 9.0 has been made official, and it’s got 72 new emoji characters.

Unicode 9.0 includes several different categories of new emoji, including people, gestures, food, and animals. There are 72 new emoji characters in all, and included in there are some emoji that are sure to get people excited. For example, there are bacon and avocado emoji, there’s a fox face and an owl, and there’s a selfie emoji.

Now that Unicode 9.0 has been released, we’ll have to wait for the OSes to adopt them. It’s said that Google will add Unicode 9.0’s emoji with the release of Android N later this year, and while there’s no word on when Apple will include them in iOS, there’s a chance that these 72 new emoji could appear on your iPhone with the fall release of iOS 10.
