After expanding to Arkansas and Texas last month, Walmart Pay is now heading to another southern state.
Walmart Pay is now live in Alabama. The mobile payment service now works in all of the more than 120 Walmart stores in the state, so if you live in or are visiting Walmart, you should be able to try Walmart Pay at any store you come across.
Walmart Pay works by having the register scan a code on your phone. To use the service, you walk up to a register, open the Walmart app, select Walmart Pay, then open your Camera. Anytime during your checkout process, you can scan the code that’s displayed on your register’s screen to connect Walmart Pay. Once your items have been scanned, you’ll be good to go. Walmart will send a receipt for your purchase through the app.
Walmart originally began testing Walmart Pay in late 2015. The service isn’t available nationwide — in fact, it’s only available in a few states so far — but Walmart does seem to be slowly expanding Walmart Pay to more states as it continues to test and improve its service.
Walmart Pay is available in the Walmart apps for Android and iOS.
