Alongside the news that the Xperia X series is coming to the US this summer, Sony has another Xperia announcement to make.
The Sony Xperia E5 is now official, offering Android 6.0 on a 5-inch 1280x720 display. The E5 boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera that includes an Auto Scene Recognition feature that will automatically adjust the software settings to fit whatever you’re photographing, and there’s a 5-megapixel camera on front for your selfie needs.
Inside the Xperia E5 lives a quad-core MediaTek MTK6735 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, NFC, FM radio, 16GB of storage, and a microSD slot that’ll let you add up to 200GB of additional storage. Also included is a 2700mAh battery that Sony says will last for up to two days on a single charge.
There’s no word yet on when the Xperia E5 will launch or how much it’ll cost when it does, but considering its specs, the E5 should be fairly affordable. The E5 could also be attractive to folks that want a smaller smartphone screen, as its 5-inch display is smaller than most of the other new Xperia phones being launched by Sony and many other smartphones on the market.
