After spreading its LTE Plus network to 190 markets across the US, Sprint today made its souped up version of 4G LTE available to one of the biggest markets of them all.

Sprint LTE Plus is now available in New York City, giving customers access to faster data speeds. With the upgrade to LTE Plus, Sprint says that it has doubled the speed and capacity of more than 900 2.5GHz cell sites sprinkled throughout the New York metropolitan area. Sprint also touts that it has recently added or upgraded service at NYC locations like Rockefeller Center, the 9/11 Memorial, Jacob Jevits Museum, JFK International Airport, and The Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum.

Finally, Sprint says that it’ll be rolling out 4G LTE coverage to all NYC underground stations, with service expected to be ready for public use in 2017.

Sprint’s LTE Plus coverage utilizes three bands of coverage — 1.9GHz, 800MHz, and 2.5GHz — to add network capacity and speed as well as boost the reach of its service. It’s a notable upgrade for devices that support it, like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Galaxy S6, LG G5, HTC 10, HTC One A9, and iPhone 6s.
