When the HTC 10 was made official, one of the many features that HTC touted was its support for Apple AirPlay, which made the 10 the first Android phone to support that feature. It’s not the only one to include AirPlay any longer, though, thanks to an app update.
An update to the HTC Connect app is bringing Apple AirPlay support to older HTC phones. With AirPlay installed, these HTC phones will be able to beam audio and video to an Apple TV or other AirPlay-supported device.
If you haven’t yet installed the newest version of HTC Connect on your device, hit up the Play Store and grab it.
How much use you get out of AirPlay support will depend on whether or not you’ve got an Apple TV or other AirPlay-enabled device. It certainly doesn’t hurt to have more functionality in your phone, though, and even if you don’t own an AirPlay device yourself, you might find yourself hanging out with someone that does. When that situation arises, you’ll be ready to beam audio and video from your phone thanks to the updated HTC Connect app.
