Three months after we learned that Microsoft is planning to bring Windows Phone’s Word Flow keyboard to iOS, some new images of the keyboard have leaked out.
The screenshots show Microsoft’s “Word Flow for iPhone beta,” which includes custom themes — including the ability to create your own using a photo — and an Arc Mode for one-handed use. The App Store listing sheds light on the Word Flow for iPhone keyboard’s other features, including support for tapping and swiping for input, word suggestions, and support for autofilling contact names when you give the app access to that info.
The current version of the Word Flow for iPhone keyboard is 80MB in size, requires iOS 9, and supports only English. There’s no word on when the app will be made available to the public, but the app beta includes an expiration date of June 7, so that could be a hint at when it’ll officially launch.
The Word Flow keyboard on Windows Phone has gotten praise for being a pretty solid way to type on your smartphone, so it’ll be interesting to see if that performance will translate to the iOS version. Microsoft will likely be working on that in the coming weeks and months as it updates the Word Flow for iPhone beta, and until then, us non-testers will just have to ogle the app in screenshot leaks like this.
