Most US carrier variants of the LG G4 started getting their Android 6.0 update last month, and since then, LG V10 owners have been wondering when their helping of Marshmallow would arrive. Now we know that it’ll be tomorrow, if you’re on Verizon.
Verizon’s Advanced Devices Software Updates page shows that the LG V10 will start getting Android 6.0 tomorrow, March 24. The update will bump the Verizon V10 to software version VS99022A and will include the usual Android 6.0 features, like Google Now on Tap and Doze mode battery optimizations. Also included is a Silent Mode profile that you can access in Quick Settings or by holding the Volume Down button until it’s set to silent.
While it’s expected that this update will begin rolling out to Verizon LG V10 users tomorrow, these updates usually go out in phases, so it may not hit all Verizon V10s tomorrow. If you have an LG V10 with a Verizon tattoo, you can check for the update manually by going into Settings > About Phone > Software updates > Check for Update.
Considering that the LG V10 is a flagship-tier device that just came out at the end of 2015, it’s always been a question of when, not if, it would get its Android 6.0 update. Now that time has finally come, and hopefully now that Verizon is updated its LG V10 to Marshmallow, the other US carriers won’t be far behind in updating theirs.
