Sprint is going big on Marshmallow updates today, pushing Android 6.0 to three different Samsung smartphones.
Sprint has confirmed that its versions of the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, and Galaxy Note 4 are all receiving updates to Android 6.0. Along with all of the goodies that you’d expect from a bump to Marshmallow, like Google Now on Tap and Doze mode battery optimizations, the updates also bring Google and Samsung security updates as well as bug fixes.
These updates are rolling out in phases, so it may take a few days for your device’s update to appear. Sprint says that the Note 5 and Note 4 update rollouts will be completed by April 8, while the Galaxy S6 edge+’s update rollout will finish by April 4. If you’d like to check manually for your update, you can do so by going into Settings > System Update > Update now.
Sprint’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge got their Android 6.0 updates earlier this month, so it’s nice to see the Note 5 and S6 edge+ getting their own servings of Marshmallow just a couple of weeks later. The Note 4’s Android 6.0 update is a welcome sight, too, and I’m sure that anyone still rocking a Note 4 is happy to be moving up to the latest version of Android.
Once your Sprint Note 5, Note 4, or S6 edge+ gets its Android 6.0 update, be sure to let us know how Marshmallow works for you!
