After being teased back in January, the rugged Casio WSD-F10 Android Wear smartwatch will finally hit store shelves and our wrists later this month.
Casio today announced that the WSD-F10 will launch on March 25 at a price of $500. It’ll be available from Amazon, the Google Store, REI, and Shop Casio in Red, Green, Black, and Orange color options.
As a refresher, the Casio WSD-F10 has a ruggedized body that can be submerged in water up to 50 meters (164 feet) deep. It also meets military standard MIL-STD-810 to withstand shock, vibration, sand, dust, extreme temperatures, and more. The WSD-F10 also features a 1.32-inch 320x300 round display on which it can show apps like ViewRanger GPS for accessing location data and navigation guidance, MyRadar to track the weather, and tools for displaying a compass and the altitude.
Finally, the WSD-F10 includes Timepiece Mode, which can extend your battery life to more than 1 month by disabling smartphone communication and turning the display monochrome.
There aren’t a ton of rugged Android Wear smartwatches, but today the Casio WSD-F10 did get some competition with Nixon’s The Mission. Nixon’s watch won’t be launching until some time later in 2016, though, so Casio will beat its ruggedized competition to the market and to consumers’ wrists.
