Well, that didn’t take long. A little more than one week after the Android N Developer Preview was first released, Google has started pushing an update to eligible devices.

The Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player are currently receiving updates to the first Android N Developer Preview, which was build NCP56P. The 6P and 5X are receiving build NCP56W, the Nexus 9 Is receiving NCP56X, and the Nexus Player is being bumped up to NCP56R.

Google hasn’t included a changelog with these updates, so it’s not clear exactly what’s inside of them. Given their size — around 30MB — its seems likely that they’re mostly made up of bug fixes found in the first Android N Developer Preview release.

Google previously said that it’d be pushing out updates for the Android N Developer Preview, but it’s still exciting to see this first one appear, especially since it’s coming just a little more than a week after the first release. It remains to be seen how frequently Google will push out updates, but if today’s update is any indication, we’ll see ‘em more frequently than we did with the Android M preview last year.

One other thing to note is that to get this Android N update over the air, you’ll need to be enrolled in the Android Beta Program. If you flashed the original update, you’ll need to manually flash this one, too.
