AT&T teased last month that its Cricket Wireless prepaid brand would offer the Samsung Galaxy S7, and now we know when it’ll launch and how much it’ll cost.
Cricket will begin selling the 32GB Black Onyx Galaxy S7 on March 18 for $649.99. It’ll be available online and in stores on that date. Customers that buy a GS7 between March 18 and April 1 will receive a free Samsung Gear VR and a six-game bundle to use with their VR headset.
Because Cricket is a GSM prepaid operator, you could simply bring an unlocked Galaxy S7 onto Cricket if you’d like. Selling the GS7 itself makes getting Samsung’s new flagship onto Cricket a bit easier, though, giving Cricket customers a way to quickly and easily buy a GS7 that they know will play nicely with Cricket’s service.
Cricket today also revealed that it’ll begin selling the LG Spree on March 11. The Spree is an entry-level Android 5.1 phone that’ll cost $89. It’s packing a 4.5-inch 854x480 display and 2-megapixel camera on its face, a 5-megapixel camera around back, and a quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor inside its body. Other LG Spree specs include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, 4G LTE connectivity, and a 1940mAh battery.
